There is nothing like this is better or this is bad. Both are equally good and u need to choose what you want to learn. Both of them have good job opportunities. First look into the course structure and round up on the subjects that you are interested in. Check whether that course offers those subjects. Based on the specialization u choose while studying that course, you will land up in different job openings.

The salary/remuneration for a particular job is the market value for a particular profession and designation at the city/town where the office is located. Job postings at websites like Monster, Yahoo HotJobs and Careerbuilder carry information about salaries. The Govt Dept of Labor, (www.bls.gov) Bureau of statistics has information about median salaries for different professions and details of additional compensation offered. Other online resources are salary.com and payscale. Your salary will also depend on your educational qualification and how you handle your career. More details and links to relevant websites available at http://7ys.info/

Is it a waste of money to obtain a Masters of Science Information Systems online for $30,000 if no experience
Is it a waste of money to obtain a Masters of Science Information Systems online for $30,000 if no experience?
Sorry, ran out of room for the question. If you have no previous experience is it worth it? Thank you very much!

Yes I think it is a total waste of money and time to obtain a master of Science information degree if there is no work experience. Plus online degrees do not work most of the times.

In certain fields, it is better to gain experience before obtaining a Master's degree. I believe Information Systems is one of those. However, just because it is better, doesn't mean it is necessary. Is it a waste of money? If you are paying $30,000 for a 36 semester hour Master's degree, you are wasting money. Let me guess, University of Phoenix or DeVry or possibly Kaplan. Go to University of Illinois. http://www.online.uillinois.edu/catalog/ProgramDetail.asp?ProgramID=438 Tuition is $217.75 per quarter credit hour. Total tuition is about $13,000. They only enroll 12 graduate students each fall, so competition is tight. If that doesn't work, try Dakota State University. Their program is only 30 credit hours at $252.45 per semester credit hour. Total: $7,573.50 Good luck
