I just started a masters in information systems and i have a lot of projects to do. has anyone got god tips to help me motivate myself to start working on them? I'm finding it really really hard to get going? The projects are group porjects and individual. They are mainly to do with IT subjects. Most of them are reports and presentations

What are the projects like? I can give you an answer based on the particular type of projects.

Ugh, I have the same problem sometimes. I know I should be doing my research, but It takes me ages to get going sometimes. I love my subject, but sometimes doing nothing is far more appealing. Everyone has this problem to some degree, but getting over it is easier said than done. Set yourself some time goals, and try your hardest to reach them before your personal deadline. Also, put work before pleasure. A night of drinking with friends may sound fun, but knowing your up to date with your work (and that you won't have professors breathing down your neck) is far better. Trust me. Anyway, I hope this helped! Good luck with your project!

Have been through that phase in life. Try making each project interesting by giving real life examples and scenarios. IT project reports and documentation generally tend to be boring, especially so, if you are in London and stuck with the gloomy weather for days together. But good thing about IT projects is that you can always relate to some real life scenarios and its fun that way. You will get to appreciate the larger picture and how your IT systems fit in with a business model. Also, try organising some fun outings for project discussions with the team....my experience is that IT guys get their cranky ideas from pizza and coke ;) Enjoy your projects....
